Meet Elijah Montgomery Webb, high IQ hillbilly
twelve year old, shunned by his fellow ninth graders.
That's right; Elijah is one of three gifted students at
Podunk High. He strongly dislikes not fitting in, but
it's okay, as he hates life in Podunk altogether. A sort
of all-round scientific genius, partial to chemistry (and
punk rock music), he is being raised in the church and
hates it, uninterested in anything having to do with
God. Nonetheless, God chooses him for a seemingly
insurmountable task, as he possess a special, very
powerful, measure of faith, inherited from his long
thought-to-be-dead father. Elijah isn't afraid of much,
which is his real power. He is a novice at fencing, but
a fast learner, and every bit the hero by nature.
